Session 7: Module C - What is a Network Liaison?

You’ve all probably heard some version of the saying "when everyone is responsible, no one is responsible."  We’ve seen lots of situations where networks begin to fizzle once the child protection case closes or where people don’t know what to do moving forward when concerns come up. One strategy that helps reduce the likelihood of this happening is to identify a network liaison.

It’s critical that we have someone that is holding the baton for the network before the case closes. The best way we’ve thought to describe a network liaison is to think of the person as the "grandmother" of the network.

Individual Reflection:

  • In thinking about the network liaison role - what would you see as the most important responsibilities of the network liaison?
