  ORI-B: Tour Your Classroom

As you start this course, there will likely be times when you feel out of your comfort zone. Whether you're nervous about technology, worried about trying new practice, or just worried about how you're going to fit one more thing into your already hectic schedule, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We are here for you along the way.

Reach out to your On-site Agency Facilitator with any comments, questions, concerns, apprehensions, or scathing rebuttals. They have direct access to us and we can help!

Stuff to know about the course:

  • There are 12 sessions (well, 13 if you're counting this Orientation Session).
  • Each session has multiple modules.
  • Right now you're in a session called "Orientation" and a module called "ORI-B: Tour Your Classroom."
  • Each session is designed to be 2-hours long. But, pace yourself! Many participants have liked starting each session with 30-minutes to share reflections about what they've tried and what they've learned since the previous session. Your On-site Agency Facilitator will let you know how often your group is meeting and the length of each session.
  • A certificate of completion is provided at the end of the course.
  • Do your homework and apply your learning but, don't be a slave to the course. Dig in, be curious, be brave, try new things and have fun!

Stuff to know about the classroom:

  • Know how to get here! Save the URL (a.k.a. web address) in your "bookmarks" or "favorites".
  • This classroom is for your group only. No outsiders will see what you post.
  • Everything you need is built into the classroom. Modules typically contain:
    • general reading
    • specific reading such as articles and handouts to save and print
    • videos
    • pictures
    • illustrations
    • exercises
    • individual and group discussion questions
    • comment boxes to enter your reflections
    • an occasional quiz
  • We suggest that each participant login to the online course during every session to post comments and access the course materials. However, it isn't necessary to post every time there is a comment box. During group discussions, it's okay for one or two people to post comments on behalf of the group. You can refresh your web browser during the live sessions to see new comments that have been posted.
  • **IMPORTANT NOTE** Though your classroom is secure with a password-protected account for each participant, it is not an encrypted platform. As you contribute comments do not included any identifying case information.

**Your classroom will close one month after your last scheduled session**

Take a look around.

In each module, scroll down to view all the content. If there is an opportunity for sharing comments within a module, the "Comments" box will always be at the bottom of that screen.

On the top right of your screen you will see "Complete and Continue." Clicking this will move you to the next module. And, the "Previous Lecture" button brings you to the previous module.

On the left of your screen you will see the outline of the course. You can see how much of the course you have completed by viewing your "% of Completion". As you complete each module by clicking "Complete and Continue" your "% of Completion" increases.

ENJOY!
